The three main objectives of this program were:

• the development of future professional with emphasis in public transportation, intermodal issues and interdisciplinary skills associated with public transportation projects.

• conduct applied research focusing on systems operation and integration.

• to motivate the participants to consider a job opportunity in a government agency and public services in Puerto Rico .

At the end of the program the students and faculty were expected to become highly trained and motivated professionals, ready to face similar challenges in their future professional careers.  To strengthen, maximize and capitalize the universities located in the San Juan Metropolitan Area, in this case Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico (PUPR) in Hato Rey, a partnership was established with the Engineering Faculty of this institution.
